WILD ROSE CLASSIC RESULTS
Somehow, my schedule lined up enough that I was able to make the 5.5hr jaunt up to Bruderheim for the annual Wild Rose Classic show, hosted by E.A.R.S.
It was my first-ever two day show and I can’t believe how exhausted I felt afterwards. That said, it was an amazing experience and I made so many new friends that I look forward to visiting with in the future!
I have to give a shout-out to the AMAZING folks at E.A.R.S. who sent out the show reports and e-legs just days after the show!
Some exciting news aside from the show; I picked up Top Lop Rabbitry’s Bo while I was up “north” and I’m incredibly excited to have an orange Holland in the barn again.
Now to the weekend highlights! I was showing both Luke and Bo, but Bo did not fair very well as he only just turned senior and still has some filling out to do. That said, the judges said he is a keeper and that he should develop quite nicely.
Show B | Judge Ted Deloyola
Luke (Hot Crossed Buns Saint Laurent) won Best of Variety and Best of Breed!
Show C | Judge Mary Jo Terry
I was quite excited to hear Mary Jo Terry was judging in Bruderheim, as she quite liked Luke in the first-ever show I took him to. This time around, she awarded him with a Best Opposite of Variety and Best Opposite of Breed.
Show E | Judge Ted Deloyola
Day 2 had Luke cranky and, at times, frisky! In Show E, he won Best of Variety.
Show F | Judge Mary Jo Terry
Despite being fed up halfway through Day 2, Luke managed to work his charm and win another Best of Variety and Best of Breed!
The Wild Rose Classic was one of Luke’s best shows yet and really has me excited for the future of my breeding program, especially with the addition of TLR’s Bo, who comes from some excellent lines and in my opinion has some better strengths than Luke…time will tell!
Just a quick addition: I bred Bo to Maybelle and, as long as it took, she will be due June 18. Shoot me an email if you’re interested in being added to the waiting list!
